K-swing

The most important asset of the GolfLab Academy instructional program is without a doubt the “K” swing or kinetic swing. Kinetics is the science that deals with the effects of forces on the motions of material bodies, or with changes in a physical or chemical system.

For most people that still does not answer the question of what is Kinetics. Basically it is a combination of science and sport using the principles of Kinesiology, which more simply put as it relates to golf, is the ability to transfer energy from the ground into the body and then into the ball to achieve maximum velocity at the moment of impact.

The Kinetic link principles can be easily applied to other sports, such as tennis, bicycling, hockey, and skiing to enhance an athlete’s efficiency and overall performance. Due to the small differences in each player’s bodies, the end result may vary in what it looks like, but the efficiency ratings, and performance levels are very clear and easy to measure using state-of-the-art motion sensor equipment – the K-vest.

GolfLab Academy was the first to acquire this 3D analytical equipment back in 2006, and since then we have been actively using it to evaluate a measure individual’s swing effectiveness.

The effectiveness of the “K” swing can be explained as follows. The entire concept of Kinetic sequencing, or the coordinated transfer of energy, is for the first time a quantifiable., but even without the ability to measure, the player can immediately FEEL the difference, and see the flight of the ball improve.

A system of teaching the “K” swing by A.J. McAdam with the support of Bentley Kinetics, Leadbetter Golf Academies, and the University of Arizona has been structured to allow the student to achieve levels of performance both physically and mentally that were in previous types of instruction not possible.

Kinematic sequencing, and the ability to transfer energy are not only physical elements, but are very much the results of proper thinking processes by the brain. Most golfers are utilizing only a small percentage of their mental energy, and are using the improper part of the brain to run the program that makes them move in the proper sequence.

The GolfLab system also allows the player to utilize the nervous system to run the program that is more often run by the analytical portion of the brain by most players, resulting in many what has been termed as “Analysis Paralysis”. Through a proper routine and techniques used to harness this mental energy, the “K” swing can achieve performance levels above and beyond those of previous techniques. Improve your movement patterns, improve your fitness, improve your scoring, and improve your life with the “K” swing, and GolfLab Academy.
